National Stationery Week Competition 2018

National Stationery Week 2018, natstatweek

This National Stationery Week we all want to know about the stationery that makes your world go round, that one trusty piece that is always with you in your pocket or pencil case.

Give us a great answer and you might get to introduce this bundle of goodies in to your collection!

You can get your hands on a Platignum fountain pen, a pack of 8 Paper Mate Inkjoys in Assorted Fun Colours, a Steadtler Pencil Set, 4 Koh-I-Noor Calligraphy Markers, a Fisher Space Bullet Pen and Leather Pen Pouch and a Philippi Guardian Angel bookmark.

National Stationery Week

To get you started we will tell you what we can't live without.

The humble highlighter, we don't care about the colour, green, orange or yellow, any will do.

We use the highlighter for counting in stock, completing checklists and making sure important add-ons on your orders are all accounted for. You'll often find us dashing about the office wondering where we had one last!

It's safe to say without our trusty highlighters we would be feeling a bit lost, and our bits of paper wouldn't be half as colourful.

Now tell us, is it the stapler or the novelty dog-shaped paperclip? Which item of stationery could you not live without?

For me it has to be the pencil, it has an endless amount of creative design or notes in that tiniest of little lead . its the most creative piece of staionery anyone can have , the world is as creative as your mind lets it be

  • Sarah Webb

A black fineliner - I can write notes, make lists and doodle & illustrate my notes and lists all with the same pen! A multitasking marvel!

I need a pen, everyone at work always steals them off each other.

  • Zoe Rogers

I'd have to choose a good old staedtler black and yellow pencil in 2B. Perfect for taking quick notes, drawing, but most importantly writing lighting and sound cues in my script when I am working on a show, allowing me to erase them if they change!

  • Jane Willis

The all-surface fine liner - whether I'm adding emphasis to my craftwork, noting which plug is which, scribbling the contents list on a freezer box or labelling an envelope I always have one to hand.

  • Paddy

Definitely a fountain pen - something that feels comfortable to write for a long time with, but also encourages me to write slower than a biro does, so my writing looks a lot neater!

  • katie smith

I could not live without a pen. Im always making lists and notes. I would be a mess otherwise.

  • Shaz Goodwin

Sticky notes! I use them to communicate with my team at work either on a document or just a smiley face on a desk. Classteachers get a sticky note on professional reports too. At home I keep them in the kitchen as that's often where I find inspiration or an idea to Follow up later and I use them in my blog diary to mark certain things. I divide my notebooks at work and home into sections with them too! Long live the sticky note ?

  • Alison Cross

I could not live without a sharp pencil. So now I'm not sure whether it's the pencil or the sharpener I can't live without lol!

  • Nikki Trow

It's a toss up between a fountain pen or my traveller's notebook! :)

  • Dawn Obrien

It has to be my BIC 4 colour pen, it goes everywhere with me, signs things, make lists, doodles, love notes for my hubby...all in different colors !

    my trusty parker pen

  • Usha

Pens! Love all sorts of pens. Also my many 100s of filofax organisers, that I use for many different purposes.

  • Elle elart

I couldn't live without my faithful fountain pen. I just can't write as neatly with a ballpoint as I can with a proper ink pen!

    my fountain pen

  • amy Fidler

My old faithfull Ball point pen

  • Alison Latham

    A staple remover!
I know what you're thinking, "Why?". Other stationery items are used far more frequently and definitely bring more joy.
However... The loss of the staple remover causes actual, physical pain!!
You can't say that about a biro. Biro's you buy in multipacks and always have another to hand.
My life without a staple remover is always several nails lighter. More often than not, without it, I am left with bloody stumps for fingers and more holes in my fingertips than you see in the average colander!

It has to be a pen,I'm always grabbing one.

  • Alex

I love my fountain pens but if I could only have one it would have to be my Zebra F-xMD. It's always clipped to my pocket at work and while everyone else is constantly losing their pens and scratching around for one, mine is always there, always working, and always ready.

  • Deborah Banks

Post-it notes. If I didn't have them, I would not remember to do anything, either at work or home. And pretty ones cheer me up too!

  • Nafisah

A good old black gel ink pen! Gotta appreciate the smaller things in life.

  • Gill Watson

My biro! Although I love to write with a fountain pen sometimes only a biro will do!

  • Jo Matthews

Sheesh this is tough but if I really, really, really had to choose one item it would be my fountain pen. Erm, does it have to be just one fountain pen or can I count my 71 pens as one item?

  • Tee Simpson

My highlighter. The pink one. I always need things to stand out

Post-it notes; i’ve outsourced my memory to sticky notes! Seriously very helpful; to do, to buy, to call or just random thoughts.

  • Denise Houghton

Tippex Mouse - I keep messing up crossword answers - I should probably complete them in pencil first

  • Lynne OConnor

My hole punch; not only does it keep my paper under control but it's so satisfying to use and fun to empty

  • sandy ralph

oh it has to be my gel pens, especially my glittery ones

  • Jayne Sullivan

A notebook. I like to write lists.

  • Liz

I couldn't live without my letter opener. It is so satisfying to use.

I can't live without my Busy Days Planner. I couldn't cope if I didn't have everything written down. I carry it everywhere so I can write notes, appointments and things to do.

  • jay lancaster

    Sticky bookmark tabs

  • Paula Millard

I now couldn’t live with my new silver Parker pen with gel ink. It writes like a dream and is engraved so it’s super special and will not leave my side

  • Jason Oneill

My black fine liner. I love it as it makes my detailing stand out.

  • Mandy Steel

    My Staedtlers felt pens.

  • David Topping

Since I had major surgery in July 17, thanks to all the general anaesthetic, I've always needed to bring a small notebook with me everywhere. I make small notes of any thoughts and ideas. I now live by the motto: If it's not written down, it didn't happen.

  • Maria Gill

For me, it has to be a note book, I live my life writing and following lists as I have such a lousy memory!

  • Angela Walton

Has to be a good pen. Always need one for work and at home

  • Ann Smith

A gel pen that glides across the page

  • Karen Roberts

    My fountain pen.

  • John McDonald

My trusty Lamy Pico in neon orange ... Always in my pocket, ready to write

  • Lynda Graham

    My Parker Jotter ballpoint.

  • Lisa

I couldn't live without either bic ballpoint pens or paper mate inkjoy pens in black. They're the only pens that make my handwriting look smooth despite my years of practise.

  • Nuala R

For me it has to be a comfortable pen. I have hypermobility in my fingers so with out a decent pen my head starts to ache

  • Allie

Has to be my Lamy Safari fountain pen with turquoise ink. It goes everywhere I go and is the most reliable writing instrument ever! Nuff said.

  • Mildred

A watercolour pencil, usually blue, cause it makes doodling more fun and journal look better when you can play with the intensity of the colours.

  • Karen Nagle

My eraser because I love drawing but I am my own biggest critic so I erase a lot before I'm happy with my finished work

  • Graham Lawn

When I go to work I ALWAYS have a trusty pen in my shirt pocket and a backup in my bag. Without it I couldn’t sign in, sign out, complete my vehicle checks and stay legal. It might be a humble pen but without it I couldn’t work. #NatStatWeek ???

  • Jen Shearer

The eraser always gets me out of trouble when doing crosswords and sodoku
